In this setting of the Ave Maria I have opted for a simple, yet mildly dissonant harmonic style. The general dynamic is very quiet apart from the climax ‘ora pro nobis’ (‘pray for us sinners’), which is a dissonant and impassioned plea to the Mother of God.
